My purpose for these pieces is to marry the expressive beauty of the human form and the thought provoking world of the mind. I confront the viewer with a dramatic and intimate portrait of a family member and use facial expression, body language, and personal imagery to represent the individual’s inner thoughts. I strive to capture each personality and expression so that the viewer can interpret the person’s thoughts, struggles, and desires.
